When King of the Pride, Mandla, was recently attacked by a territorial male lion that had gained access from a 23,000 acre neighbouring reserve, it was decided that a call to action was needed; to construct a predator-proof fence that won't kill endangered animals.
The construction of such a fence, specifically designed to protect leopard tortoises, pangolins and other endangered animals, will be constructed on our southern border. The fence will use a carefully fitted earth-strand rather than live-wire, which often results in the tragic death of many animals.
By using this type of fencing, the GWLPT is hoping to set new standards in protective fencing regulations as a result of appealing to Nature Conservation authorities to regulate the national standard. This will ensure that fences are altered using the correct safety methods.
Due to the safety of the cubs also being at risk, the pride has been put back into protective custody whilst the southern fence line is upgraded. However, we need your continual support to do so. We urgently need to raise R50,000 / £4067 / $6795 in order to construct the fence and protect our pride.

"I'm very proud to be supporting the Global White Lion Protection Trust. There is nothing more important for an animal than being in its natural habitat and the charity does an unbelievable job ensuring that this is possible for the white lions. They are extraordinary, beautiful creatures and I feel passionate about ensuring their conservation."
